USA - Florida. Jury recommends death penalty for Christian Cruz

Volusia County Jury recommends death penalty for Christian Cruz, 25, White, in the August 2013 kidnapping and fatal shooting of 25-year-old Christopher Jemery, a man he mistakenly thought was a drug dealer. The jury found Cruz guilty last week of first-degree murder and felony murder. Investigators say Cruz and co-defendant Justen Charles had been planning to rob a drug dealer who had previously lived in the apartment but moved out. Charles is still awaiting trial.
