Duval County judge Tatiana R. Salvador sentenced Fishburne to death
Fishburne pled guilty to one count of 1st-degree murder and 1 count of kidnapping for crimes that occurred in December 2019. After the penalty phase, on February 16, the jury recommended that Fishburne be sentenced to death by a vote of 10-2.
