USA - Florida. Michael Renard Jackson sentenced to life in prison without parole

(March 13, 2023) - Michael Renard Jackson sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Jackson, now 52, Black, was initially sentenced to death in 2010 (see HoC 30/04/2010 and 16/07/2010) for the January 2007 rape and murder of Andrea Boyer, 25, White. On November 15, 2012 (see) The Florida Supreme Court overturned the conviction and death sentence finding that a lengthy videotape of an interrogation Clay County sheriff’s detectives conducted with Jackson prejudiced the jury because detectives repeatedly expressed their view that he was guilty. Jackson was convicted in February for the second time of killing Boyer, but this time the jury declined to recommend the death penalty. Today, march 13, he was formally sentenced to life in prison without parole.
