USA - Indiana. U.S. Court of Appeals has overturned the death sentence of John M. Stephenson

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, in a decision by Chief Judge Posner, has overturned the death sentence of John M. Stephenson. The court ruled that Stephenson's counsel was ineffective at the penalty phase of his trial when he failed to object to Stephenson being forced, without any security justification, to wear a stun belt that was visible to the jury.
