Michael L. Marsh II, 33, has been resentenced to life in prison. The sentence was imposed today in Sedgwick County District Court after Marsh pleaded guilty to reduced charges as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Marsh was sentenced to die on April 16, 1998 after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder in the June 17, 1996 killing of Marry Ane Pusch and of capital murder in the death of her 19-month-old daughter, Marry Elizabeth. His appeal led the Kansas Supreme Court to declare the death penalty law unconstitutional on December 17, 2004 (see).
