February 3, 2025 - USA. List of the 26 death sentences of 2024.
According to the Death Penalty Census, a database created by the DPIC, 26 new death sentences were issued in the United States in 2024, all against males. Divided by ethnicity, 10 are white, 10 black, 4 Hispanic, 1 Asian and 1 Native American. As already reported in the DPIC's Year-End Report (see HoC 19/12/2024), divided by state the sentences were: 7 in Florida, 6 in Texas, 4 in Alabama, 3 in California, and 1 in Arizona, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio and Tennessee.
