Harrison County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Dodson has sentenced Alberto Julio Garcia, 32, to death. Garcia had pleaded guilty to capital murder on Jan. 18 in the July 16, 2014 killing of a 5-year-old girl, Janaya Thompson, who was sexually assaulted and hanged with the use of her socks.
