USA - Missouri. Martin Link, 47, white, was executed

Martin Link, 47, black, was executed at the state prison in Bonne Terre. Link was convicted of the killing 1991 murder, rape and kidnapping of 11-year-old Elissa Self-Braun, white, who disappeared walking to her school bus stop. Link becomes the 1st condemned inmate to be put to death in Missouri this year, the 58th since the state resumed capital punishment in 1989. Link becomes the 5th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA, and the 1239th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
