A Clark County jury sentenced Richard Haberstroh, 58, Black, to death. He was first sentenced to death in 1987 for the 1986 kidnapping, rape and murder of Donna Marie Kitowski, 20. On May 31, 2003 (see) the state Supreme Court ruled for a new penalty hearing because a jury’s finding of “depravity of mind” as an aggravating circumstance warranting the death penalty was improper.
