USA - North Carolina. Judge Ron Spivey sentenced Andrew D. Ramsuer to death

Judge Ron Spivey formally accepted the 2 death sentences handed down by the jury yesterday (see) on Andrew D. Ramsuer. Ramseur, 21, black, was convicted of the Dec. 16, 2007 murders of gas station clerk Jennifer Vincek and customer Jeffrey Peck during an armed robbery. While it is termed a recommendation, the jury's decision on the penalty is binding.
