Ohio Governor John Kasich has commuted the death sentence of William Montgomery to life without the possibility of parole. Montgomery was scheduled to be executed on April 11 for the March 8, 1986 shooting of Debra Ogle, 20, and 19-year-old Cynthia Tincher during a robbery. On March 16 (see), the Ohio Parole Board voted 6-4 in favor of commutation following questions raised about discrepancies in the case and the fairness of the trial.
