USA - Texas. A jury sentenced Gabriel Hall, 22, Asian, to death

A Brazos County jury sentenced Gabriel Hall, 22, Asian, to death. Hall was convicted Sept. 11 in the October 20, 2011 slaying of Edwin Shaar, 68, who was shot and stabbed. Hall also seriously injured Shaar's wife, Linda, at the couple's home. It is the 1st death sentence imposed in Texas since last December. Judge Travis Bryan III delivered the sentence.
