USA - Texas. A jury sentenced Gary David Green to death

A Nueces County jury sentenced Gary David Green (56, White) to death in connection with the October 2, 2013 shooting death of Upton County deputy Billy Kennedy (White) at a Stripes convenience store in McCamey. The trial was moved from West Texas because of a change of venue.  Green was arrested in October 2013. His card was declined at the store and he demanded free gas. The man was approached by Kennedy and another deputy, who ran a check on the vehicle's license plate and discovered it was stolen.
