A Bexar County jury unanimously sentenced Mark Anthony Gonzalez, 45, Hispanic, to death. The jury last week found Gonzalez guilty in the May 28, 2011 death of Bexar County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Kenneth Vann. Gonzalez did not testify during his trial. He is the 1st person sentenced to death in Bexar County since 2009. Judge Andrew Carruthers has yet to formalize the sentence.
