Gayland Bradford, 42, black, was executed for gunning down 29-year-old Brian Williams on Dec. 29, 1988 during a robbery. Bradford becomes the 4th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 468th overall since the state resumed capital punishment on December 7, 1982. Bradford becomes the 20th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1254th overall since the nation resumed exectuions on January 17, 1977.
