Jonathan Bruce Reed, a white man on death row for 30 years, has his conviction reversed. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled Reed did not have a good jury because prosecutors excluded blacks in their beliefs that black jurors empathized with defendants. Reed was convicted and sentenced to death in Sept. 1979 for the death of Wanda Jean Wadle. Reed was found guilty of raping and killing Wadle. The case is Reed v. Quarterman, No. 05-70046.
