USA - Texas. Joseph Ries was executed

Joseph Ries was executed. Ries, 29, white, was executed for killing Robert Ratliff, 64, on Feb. 18, 1999, during a burglary. Ries becomes the 12th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 417th overall since the state resumed capital punishment on December 7, 1982.  Ries becomes the 28th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1127th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
