Mark Anthony Gonzales, 45, Hispanic, was formally sentenced to death today by State District Judge Mary Roman. The judge upheld an October 20, 2015 (see) unanimous sentence by a Bexar County jury. The jury found Gonzalez guilty in the May 28, 2011 death of Bexar County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Kenneth Vann.
