Stanley Griffin, 52, Black, was re-sentenced to life in prison for the September 19, 2010 strangulation murder of Jennifer Hailey, 29, White, in her home. On June 29, 2012 (see), a Brazos County jury gave a man the death penalty, a decision that was thrown out after a 6-3 vote 2 years ago (January 27th, 2016) by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. The Court of Appeals ruled that there was not enough certainty about some of the aggravating factors prosecutors had used to get a death sentence. Another jury today sentenced him to life. Griffin will have to serve 30 years before he becomes eligible for parole.
