Wyoming's Joint Judiciary Legislative Committee has voted to support a bill that would allow for execution by firing squad. The full legislature will consider the death by firing squad bill when the full legislature meets in January. The Committee has 14 members. Wyoming has only one inmate on death row. Dale Wayne Eaton is pressing a federal appeal of the death sentence he received 10 years ago for the murder of Lisa Marie Kimmell, 18. Since 1997, Wyoming has executed only 1 prisoner, in 1992.
