Vietnamese lawmakers proposed using lethal injections for death sentences to replace the firing squad, which is too costly, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper quoted a senior official as saying. Truong Ngoc Lam, deputy director of Appeal Institute III, added that the shot execution requires firing ground and six officials while the injection requires only one.
