VIETNAM: THREE DRUG TRAFFICKERS SENTENCED TO DEATH IN SON LA
The People’s Court of the northwestern border province of Son La handed death sentences to three defendants and life sentences to two others for trafficking during a trial on 7 October 2019.

The People’s Court of the northwestern border province of Son La handed death sentences to three defendants and life sentences to two others for trafficking during a trial on 7 October 2019.
The capital penalty was given to Ha Van Thanh, Lo Thi Lap and Ha Thi Thanh, all residing in Moc Chau district, Son La province.
Hoang Van Hung and Nguyen Van Hieu were ordered to spend the rest of their life in prison while Bui Minh Quang was jailed for 18 years.
According to the verdict, the police caught Ha Van Thanh red-handed for illegally storing drugs, including 15 packs of heroin weighing over 4.6kg and 3kg of meth on 5 July 2018.
They later arrested Quang, Hung, Lap, Thanh and Hieu.
