Vu Quang Hiep, 28, was sentenced to death by a court in Hanoi for shooting dead a rival gangster on behalf of a friend trying to reclaim a debt. The killing took place on January 1, 2001, but Hiep fled to China and was only arrested in February 2003 after returning to Hanoi.
