Wan Marzuki Wan Abdullah, 26, was sentenced to death by the High Court for trafficking in over 3 kilos of cannabis in 1999. In passing sentence, Judge Nik Hashim said that drug trafficking was a serious offence and there was no alternative penalty but the mandatory death sentence.
