Four of the eight were charged with one count of aggravated robbery. Particulars of the offence were that on August 18, 2004 in Ndola, while armed with AK 47 assault rifles, the four robbed a Ndola businessman of a car and 19 million kwacha (about 4,750 US dollars) cash.
The other four were also sentenced to death for an aggravated robbery with an AKM automatic rifle in October 2004.
