Zohreh Kabiri Niat and her sister Azar had their death sentences by stoning annulled by the Chief Magistrate, who declared their trial illegal. Their case was resent to a lower tribunal for the investigation to be reopened. The two women were arrested in 2007 after Zohreh Kabiri Niat's husband denounced his spouse and her sisters, Azar e Azzam, Azar's husband, Mohammadreza Bodaghi, and another man of having "illicit relations". As proof, the man presented a short film, recorded with a video camera secretly installed at his house, where Zohreh and Azar Kabiri Niat are apparently seen in the company of a man.
