10 Myanmar guerrillas of the God's Army who took over a hospital and held 700 people hostage were all found dead, with single gun shot wounds to the head after Thai commandos stormed the building. One hostage was quoted as saying "They were shot in the head after they had been told to undress and kneel down", leading to the suspicion that Thai authorities had committed summary executions. God's Army is a Burmese breakaway group from the Karen ethnic minority in Myanmar. The rebel group is led by 12-year-old twins who are believed to have mystical powers, and comprises Christian fundamentalists trying to secure freedom from the Burmese military government.
