Sources at the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the News Agency of Nigeria that 23 were on death row in Thailand and six in Afghanistan. The sources said that reprieve came to the convicts following series of negotiations between Nigeria and the two Asian countries. "They will soon be transferred to Nigeria to serve their terms in various prisons in the country," the sources said.
