a 37-year-old former co-op staffer was sentenced to death in Japan for killing a colleague in 2004 and then killing his own wife in 2005. According to a Shizuoka District Court ruling, Osamu Okura choked and fatally stabbed Akira Makita, 37, in September 2004 because Makita had slandered his girlfriend. The court also ruled Okura strangled his 36-year-old wife at home in September 2005 to continue the relationship with his girlfriend. Later, he mutilated the body and abandoned it in the mountains.
