the Criminal Court in Wassit, Iraq, handed down death sentences to four civilians after being found guilty of murder and robbery. “They were sentenced under Article 4 of the Anti-terrorism Law,” the head of the criminal investigations department in Wassit, Lt. Col. Baqir Hadi, said. The convicts were arrested in 2008 during search raids in the al-Suweira area, Hadi explained.
