4 SENTENCED TO DEATH IN NORTH KOREA FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING

a public trial at a city stadium in Hoiryeong, North Hamkyung province in North Korea, was held for 15 people suspected of human trafficking, 4 of whom were sentenced to death. The court confirmed the charge declaring “They have sold our people to China.” Two were sentenced to life imprisonment and one was sentenced to 7 years. The death sentences were issued to two men and two women aged from their late thirties to early forties. It has been reported that only two of them attended the trial as one was too weak to move and the other attempted suicide.
