A 3-judge panel has handed down a death sentence to a man who told authorities he robbed an 85-year-old man and beat him to death last February Donald Ketterer, 54, pleaded guilty to several charges last week as his trial in the slaying of Lawrence Sanders was scheduled to start in Butler County Common Pleas Court. Ketterer pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, burglary and theft of a motor vehicle, and waived his right to a jury trial.
