A murderer who lost his appeal that lethal injection was cruel and unusual punishment was executed at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility after prison workers struggled to find veins to insert the deadly chemical mix. The difficulty inserting shunts in his arms delayed John Glenn Roe's execution by about 20 minutes. Roe, 41, was pronounced dead at 10:24 a.m. for the 1984 shooting of 20-year-old Donette Crawford. Roe becomes the 2nd condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Ohio, and the 10th in the USA.
