A 35-year-old man, Loyd Lafevers, was executed by injection in the night for killing an 84-year-old woman by beating her and setting her on fire. Loyd Lafevers was accused of kidnapping Addie Hawley on June 24, 1985. Colorado state Sen. Ken Chlouber, nephew of the murder victim, said Lafevers' execution was long overdue.
