A 37-year-old man stabbed eight children to death with a kitchen knife and injured 15 other people, including two teachers, at an elementary school in Ikeda in the Osaka Prefecture.Mamoru Takuma, a former teacher at another area school, was arrested in connection with the attack and told the police, "I got fed up with everything. I tried suicide many times but I was not able to die. I wanted to be arrested and executed."Police said the suspect was under the care of a psychiatrist and told investigators he took 10 times his normal dose of tranquillizers just before the attack.
