A Bexar County jury deliberated for less than 2 hours before deciding that Ramon Hernandez, a registered sex offender convicted in the capital murder of Rosa Maria Rosado, should be put to death.
Hernandez, 30, was convicted in the brutal rape and strangulation of Rosa Maria Rosado in April 2001.
As police investigated Rosado's death, they found DNA evidence that linked Hernandez to the rape and strangulation of Sarah Gonzales, 13, and Pricilla Almares, 12, who were abducted in December 1994 from the same area where Rosado disappeared.
