Flor, 39, killed Gregg in the emergency room of St. Mary Medical Center in Middleton Township on September 29, 2005. Gregg and Officer James Warunek had taken Flor there for tests after Gregg arrested him for drunken driving and punching a woman.
Flor managed to steal Warunek's pistol then fatally shot Gregg and wounded Warunek and hospital employee Joseph Epp.
Flor pleaded guilty to 1st-degree murder for killing Gregg, and he pleaded no contest to wounding the other two men as well as other charges.
Since Pennsylvania reinstated the death penalty in 1974, it has carried out only 3 executions. Keith Zettlemoyer and Leon Moser were put to death in 1995. Gary Heidnik was executed in 1999.
