A Clayton County judge granted Keith D. Henry's wish for a quick death sentence. Superior Court Judge Al Collier ordered capital punishment for Henry, 45, who strangled 21-year-old Regina Dates in 1999.
Henry sounded relieved at the judge's decision, saying in an assertive tone: "Thank you very much, your honor."
Whether he likes it or not, his sentence will be appealed automatically to the Georgia Supreme Court.
