A condemned prisoner involved in the killing of two brothers was executed in the central jail of Gujranwala. Muhammad Asif along with his accomplice Muhammad Nawaz of Wazirabad had killed Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Ashfaq during a cricket match over a minor conflict on June 6, 1990.
The additional district and sessions judge had awarded death sentence and fined Rs0.4 million each to both convicts. Later, the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court upheld the decision of sessions court.
The president had also rejected his clemency appeal.
Jail authorities have handed over the body to his heirs.
