Four people were sentenced to death by the Nyamata court of first instance in the joint trial of 74 people charged with involvement in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and other crimes against humanity.
The four are Dibasigira Malaika, Canisis Karangwa, Adrienne Niyonzi and Vincent Habyarimana.
Sixteen others were sentenced to life imprisonment, while 42 were sentenced to between four and 18 years in prison. Eleven were acquitted.
