A court in Uzbekistan's central Tashkent Region passed a death sentence on two men who knifed a woman and her child to death with the intent of robbing them, the Toshkent Haqiqati newspaper reported. The region's court of appeal turned down their request to pardon them, and "the sentences were executed", it added.
