a court in Vietnam sentenced a 50 year old local man to death and sent two others to prison, Vietnam News Agency reported. The People's Court of northern Lang Son province gave the death penalty to Nguyen The Viet, a life sentence to Nguyen Van Vien, 33, and a jail term of 20 years to Vu Ngoc Trong, 29. The three men are from northern Bac Giang province. Viet and Trong were arrested in Lang Son on September 7, 2006, when trading over two kilograms of heroin. Three other people involving in the case escaped.
