The jury voted for that punishment for Charles Maxwell 5 days after convicting the 40-year-old man of executing Nichole McCorkle, his ex-girlfriend, on Nov. 27, 2005.
Common Pleas Judge David Matia is to decide March 15 whether to impose the recommended execution or spare Maxwell with one of three life-imprisonment sentences: life without parole, or parole eligibility after either 28 or 33 years.
