a Division Bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in Pakistan commuted a convict’s death sentence to life imprisonment. Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam headed the bench, which heard policeman Jehan Zeb's plea for the commutation of his death penalty to a life term for killing his neighbour, Mohsin Ilyas, over a dispute in Islamabad’s I-9 sector in 2000. Jehan Zeb’s wife, Taj Bibi, and a co-accused were released during the initial trial of the case.
