A fifty two year old housewife, Julaiha Begum, her lover Loganatha Venkatesan, and another hired killer, Chandran Rajagopal, were all given the death sentence by the High Court for carrying out a plot to kill Begum's husband, T. Maniam, for his money. Begum had ordered her lover and Rajagopal to "finish off" her husband. The trio looked calm and merely stared blankly at the judge even when they were told that they would die for their crime.
