A group of Catholic priests known as "Catholic Priests for Justice," met with President Kim Dae-jung and pressed him to push for stronger reform. The priests strongly suggested that the Seoul government abolish the anti-Communist National Security Law, scrap the plan to build a memorial hall for late President Park Chung-hee and abrogate capital punishment.
