A Hong Kong woman was sentenced to death by Thailand's main criminal court for trafficking in 6.2kg of heroin worth $1.1 million.
Nancy Wong, 35, was found guilty along with Tan Wan Kieng, 40, from Singapore, and Chiravuth Chaiphongarm, 32, of Thailand. The three were arrested when they sold 20 packs of heroin to police in December 1996. A new drive against drugs this year has seen narcotics offenders put on a fast-track to execution.
