The Criminal Court sentenced to death two foreigners and a Thai for trafficking heroin. Hong Kong citizen Nancy Wong, 35, Singaporean Tan Wan Kiang, 40, and Chiravut Chaipo-ngam, 32, of Nakhon Ratchasima were convicted of possessing over six kilos of fine-grade heroin with intent to sell. They were arrested separately in Bangkok in a police undercover operation. Found in their possession were 20 packs of heroin weighing 6.269kg.
Wong and Tan denied the charges. Chiravut told the court he had been forced by police to confess.
