a judge has spared the life of local man convicted of murdering a seven-year-old girl. Last year, on May 7 (see) Tony Powell's death sentence in the 1986 attempted rape and murder of Trina Dukes was thrown out. A judge has resentenced him to life in prison, with the possibility of parole in 20-years.
