A judge meted out the death penalty on a 40-year-old man for raping a 5-year-old girl in 1996. Judge Rogelio Gonzales of the Guagua municipal trial court found Ricardo Miranda of Barangay San Pedro guilty of raping the girl.
Miranda was the second man to have received the death penalty from Gonzales. Three years ago, Gonzales handed the same decision on a man, who also raped a minor.
